ABOUT YANGON ART EXPO

 

The aim of Yangon ART EXPO 2017 is to let visitors admire the artworks produced by contemporary Myanmar artists and to show the works of Myanmalarger institutional, societal and economic changes, it will be a prestigious contemporary Art Expo in Myanmar and one of Asia’s most extraordinary examples of cosmopolitan faiths, communities’ participation and cultural heritages.

CULTURAL HERITAGES AND VILLAGES PROJECT

 

The other aim of Yangon ART EXPO is to rise funds for the project “Cultural Heritages and Villages” aiming to help a sustainable exploitation of the cultural heritage by giving to young generations of small villages in cultural heritage areas of Myanmar, the tools for using the resources, located in their territory, for tourism activities and by this way to mitigate the people leaving from the peripheral Myanmar areas and at the same time the flourishing of economic activities and job opportunities for tourism activities.

Participation at the Yangon ART EXPO 2017 is completely free for artists and visitors. The Expo will display in the new fantastic art space, more than 1500 square meters, at the top of the Junction City Tower in the core of Yangon business district. The huge space provided by the donor at the highest location ever used in Yangon for a show is a pluralistic space where autonomous perspectives can enter into dialogue and debate. The curatorial concept defines a place in a city where people go to relax and enjoy art in this sense Yangon ART EXPO 2017 aims to cultivate collaborations, to create infrastructures and strategies for the benefit of Yangon and other cities, for Myanmar and international society.
